'Cougartown' Picked Up!
Dan's pilot of the half-hour comedy Cougartown has been picked up by ABC.
He plays the 17 year old son of the main character, played by Courtney Co, who is the titular 'cougar', a sexually active older woman who dates young men. The show was created by Bill Lawrence and Kevin Beigel who brought us Scrubs. Lawrence also worked on Spin City and Biegel was a consultant on South Park.
The show will form part of ABC's fall schedule for 2009 and will see Dan on primetime network television for the first time since NBC's Heroes.

Luke to return in Heroes graphic novels
Heroes writers Aron Coliete and Joe Pokaski have confirmed that Dan's character Luke will return to Heroes - but only in the graphic novels.
In Comic Book Resources' Behind The Eclipse column, viewer Danielle Roberts posed this question :
If Dan's pilot 'Cougartown' is picked up it rules out a return to Heroes as filming would clash.
In Comic Book Resources' Behind The Eclipse column, viewer Danielle Roberts posed this question :
“I really liked Luke, I thought he was one of the most interesting new characters we've seen introduced in the past couple seasons. A fanbase for Luke sprang up almost immediately after 'Trust and Blood’ aired, and I'm curious if we'll ever get to see more of this character? I'd really love to see his characterization continue, and see how he grows as a character. He's the confused teen dealing with not fitting in and not being wanted, and he's lost without any guidance both figuratively and literally since Sylar left him in the middle of nowhere with nowhere to go since going home really isn't a viable option. I want to know what happens to him. So is there any chance we'll get to see Luke turn up again, even in the graphic novels?”
Scene from "Shades of Gray"
Absolutely. He’s such a great character that we left him in the wind for exactly that reason – so look out in the graphic novels.

Heroes writers : Luke may be on the way out
Heroes writers Aron Coleite and Joe Pokaski have hinted that Luke may not be appearing in the show for much longer. Check out this exchange from Comic Book Resources 'Behind The Eclipse' column :
Why is it that Sylar was okay with casually murdering Elle - the woman he presumably loved - for no apparent reason, yet rescued Luke - a kid he barely knows – even though Luke no longer has any information to offer him?
Sylar, like any us (to some degree more), is finding himself. Plus, Luke didn’t try to work him into something he wasn’t while Sylar was being manipulated by people claiming to be his parents. So there’s that.
Also – stay tuned – I don’t think many of his relationships last too long...
